Honda Europa recently released the new 2014 Honda Civic Black Edition for United Kingdom market. This model is available to order now at UK official Honda dealership from £249 (or $426) a month. Sadly, this hot hatchback will not coming to North America

The current-generation Honda civic is enjoying great success in the United States, where it is offered in both sedan and coupe body styles, which are powered by gasoline, natural gas, or even a hybrid powertrain. On the other side of the Atlantic, however, the hatch back version of the Civic, which Honda has yet to bring Stateside, just had its cool factor enhanced by means of a menacing special-edition model.

Dubbed Black Edition and wrapped in a triple black exterior that would make a 1970 pay mouth road runner burst with anger, the new addition to Honda’s U.K. lineup is restricted to Great Britain, where it joins similar special-edition versions of the CRV cross over and the JEZZ hatchback (sold as fit in the United States). Suddenly, it seems like the United Kingdom is a great place to be if you’re a Honda enthusiast.

But before we start feeling sorry for not getting it in the United States, let’s have a closer look and find out what the Civic Black Edition is all about.

Like the standard Civic range, the Black Edition is available with either the 1.6- litre i-DTEC diesel (£22,460) or 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine (£21,455). The diesel offering is the more frugal of the two, returning a claimed 78.5mpg with CO2 emissions of 94g/km. Honda claims the petrol engine is good for 46.3mpg but has slightly higher emissions at 145g/km.

Under the hood, the customer can choose two engine, including a 1.6 i-DTEC diesel or 1.8 i-VTEC petrol engines. The diesel unit will produces 118 horsepower and 211 pound-feet of torque (286 Nm), while the petrol 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine, delivers 142 horsepower and 128 lb-ft (174 Nm) of torque.
